Cold Laser

Cold Laser MachineLow-level light therapy, or cold laser as it's more commonly called, is a relatively new treatment method using focused beams of light to affect tissues at the cellular level. Cold laser is not like surgical lasers, or cutting lasers one might expect; when the laser emitter is placed on the skin, the patient feels nothing at all.

The laser is thought to affect the cells, increasing the amount of ATP (energy) production, thereby speeding recovery times for some injuries.

Cold laser may be effective for:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis (RA)
  • Osteoarthritis (Degenerative joint disease)
  • Acute (rapid-onset) and chronic neck pain
  • Trigger points (muscle "knots")
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
